Welcome to the website of the 2012 International Conference on Human-centric Computing
(HumanCom2012), to be held in Gwangju, Korea from September 6 to 8 2012.
The theme of HumanCom is focused on the various aspects of human-centric computing for advances in
computer science and its applications and provides an opportunity for academic and industry professionals
to discuss the latest issues and progress in the area of human-centric computing.
In addition, the conference will publish high quality papers which are closely related to the various
theories and practical applications in human-centric computing. Furthermore, we expect that the
conference and its publications will be a trigger for further related research and technology improvements
in this important subject.
The venue of HumanCom 2012, Gwangju, is an active metropolis, which forms a connecting point between
mountains to the east and plains to the west. The low mountains surrounding Gwangju are ancient,
having been worn down to hills. The east-west Noryeong mountain range divides the north and south parts
of Jeolla province. And this city has long been regarded as a city rich in culture and the arts.
It has produced numerous scholars renowned for their scholarship and virtue. Gwangju is also where the
Southern School of Chinese Painting, or Namjonghwa, as well as pansori, a traditional Korean singing
genre, originated.
We look forward to seeing you in HumanCom 2012 in Gwangju, and do check out our website often for
important updates.
